City Council

The City Council meets the third Tuesday of each month in Council Chambers at City Hall, 311 Second Street, San Juan Bautista at 6:00 p.m. Our City Council consists of five members elected to serve four-year terms. According to the SJBMC: “At the regular meeting in December of each year the City Council shall choose one of its members to serve as Mayor and one of its members to serve as Mayor Pro Tempore, each to serve until successors are chosen at the regular meeting in the following December.” Stream meetings live at CMAP TV.

A native of Southern California, John has participated in San Juan Bautista civic and community activities since first moving here in 2002. He joined the Strategic Planning Committee when it was first formed and was chairperson of that committee for the past two years. He has also coached 7th and 8th grade basketball at San Juan School for the past several years. John is currently Chairperson of the Water Resources Board of San Benito County and a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments (AMBAG). He is also member of the Bay Area Environmental Safety Group (BAESG). He is a specialist in the art of hazardous waste removal, disposal, and remediation and has 20 years of experience in Industrial Water Treatment; he has a small consulting business in those areas.
